Design philosophy

The HEIWA carrier combines the comfort of a soft baby wrap with the convenience of a buckled carrier.

HEIWA was designed 100% in-house by MONKOSE and was carefully optimized and refined based on elaborate user input and expert feedback.

The term 'HEIWA' refers to peace and harmony in Japanese, and also reflects the word 'heim' - the German and Scandinavian 'home'. This comforting calmness, together with a fascination for ergonomics, expertise and aesthetics were the guiding principles when designing HEIWA.

Is the Heiwa carrier really suitable for newborns?

Yes, the Monkose Heiwa carrier is suitable for newborns.

In fact, our newborn fit is one of the features we are most proud of! You can use our Heiwa carrier from 3.5 kg, or a baby's clothing size 50. This corresponds to a sturdy, newborn baby. Later, as your newborn grows, our Heiwa carrier can be readjusted for a constant optimal fit.

Is the Heiwa carrier ergonomic?

Yes, ergonomics and safety are our priority and our speciality. They are key features of all our carriers. While Monkose takes great pride in crafting premium hassle-free carriers, ergonomics and safety are non-negotiable. And they always will be.

For the development of its carriers, Monkose continuously collaborates with midwives and parents. (In fact, Monkose founder Linde Stifter actually started her career as a midwife, building experience alongside experts and young parents.) This expertise directly contributes to the design of our carriers, ensuring optimal ergonomics.
